Celebrating Jennifer Goodman Linn

This year, we’re celebrating what would have been Jen’s 50th birthday — and marking the 15th year of Cycle for Survival, the movement she sparked. Join us in honoring Jen’s fearless leadership and unwavering dedication to making the world a better place for people with rare cancers.

Jen’s motivation for starting Cycle for Survival was selfless. Her driving force wasn’t her own diagnosis — she was determined to set a course for a future in which anyone with a rare cancer would have a cure. Jen was the fiercest advocate for people with rare cancers, and in Cycle for Survival she created a community that unites and empowers countless patients, survivors, families, friends, caregivers, doctors, nurses, researchers, and supporters through hope and healing.

Cycle for Survival is Jen’s gift to all of us, and today her legacy lives on through the extraordinary progress we continue to make toward achieving her bold vision. Together, we will fulfill Jen’s mission.

Happy birthday, Jen. We love you. We miss you.

Jen believed wholeheartedly in celebrating every joyful moment. She also loved to dance, so on her 40th birthday, she shared this iconic video showing off some new moves.

Share Your Spark

Jen was the spark that ignited Cycle for Survival. Today, this community has grown to include thousands of people who each have a unique spark — a motivation for joining. So we want to know: Who or what inspired you to be part of the movement to beat rare cancers?

Why We Joined the Movement

"I had the privilege to know Jen. She continues to inspire me. I will be thinking of her strength tomorrow, 3/21, as I begin chemo treatment for Ovarian Cancer."
Beth Ifcher
"Jen, you were my ADPi Sister and I'll never forget your smile, your laugh, or the way those things always assured me things would be ok. Thank you for continuing to be amazing, 10 years after you passed. I love you! "
Berhany Barratt
"Jen’s bravery, courage, smile, and undying spirit continue to inspire me. A very special person with an awesome, devoted family who continues the battle to fight rare cancers."
Sandy Probasco
"When my Mother was diagnosed with leiyomayasarcoma in 2007, we were scared. We had never heard of sarcoma before and reading on the internet wasn't helping. The next year, my Aunt saw Jen Linn speaking during an interview that she, too, was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma and immediately reached out. To our surprise, Jen responded quickly and we immediately scheduled a date for all of us to have dinner and chat about their sarcoma experiences. I will never forget how much better I felt after meeting Jen. She had this amazing positive energy that was contagious and we all felt like we were about to be a part of something bigger with Cycle For Survival. Finally, something we could take control of and be able to make a difference. We've been riding in Cycle for Survival since 2009 and this will be our 13th year! My Mother has endured 4 reccurences, countless surgeries, months in the hospital and now about to begin chemo treatments for the most recent recurrence. Throughout it all, she has stayed positive and has shown untiring perseverance and a strength like no other. My Mother would not be where she is today without MSK, and our participation in Cycle For Survival and perspective would not be where it is today without Jen. I am forever grateful for meeting a soul as beautiful as Jen's and being able to participate in an organization that is furthering the life-saving research at MSK that will hopefully, one-day, help my resilient Mother live a longer and healthier life."
Liz Cimarelli
"I joined Cycle for Survival because of Courtney Caccia, a college friend of Jen's. I never met Jen, I only spoke with her on the phone after the first Cycle for Survival event in San Francisco, but her story brought to my attention the need to support and fund rare cancers and I have contributed to Jen's cause (and other rare cancers) ever since that first Cycle for Survival event. I am hopeful we will all be able to ride together again in Jen's honor someday soon. "
Kristine Mostofizadeh
"My dear husband Jake bravely fought angiosarcoma for five years. Despite the best MSKCC had to offer he passed away seven years ago. Cycle for Survival is an inspiration because it was founded by someone else with sarcoma, a cancer no one has ever heard of! "
Catherine Schenck
"I started riding in Cycle For Survival in 2015. My sister encouraged me to ride as a way to celebrate 30 years since my life saving Bone Marrow transplant for treatment of childhood Leukima. I signed up and as many of you have experienced, the event itself was amazing and easily one of the most inspiring and impactful things I have ever participated in. It was four hours of cheering, peddling, crying and laughing. I couldn’t wait to do it all again. I am participating in Cycle For Survival for the sixth year. I ride so rare cancer patients like Jen can live longer and have better lives. "
Allison
"My sweet, brave & beautiful forever 24 daughter Michele Ekaterini inspired me to donate to Cycle for Survival. Michele was diagnosed with a rare & aggressive type of childhood cancer called ARMS. She was diagnosed 3 weeks before her 21st birthday on July 26, 2013, Michele passed away 3 years later on September 28, 2016 after a long & hard fought battle with ARMS. She did some writing during her battle & she inspired many people on her journey. Michele stated "I have cancer, but cancer doesn't have me". Michele is forever & always my HERO. I love & miss her every second of every day. "
Valeria C. Broadley

"I am moved by your Love Letter to Jennifer Goodman Linn, her story, her smile, and the creation of Cycle for Survival. I am making a donation in Jennifer’s honor and in memory of my mom, Alice Youngman, who’s effervescent spirit continues to dance all around us. "
Elizabeth Youngman
"Barbara and Herb Linn inspired us to be part of this most important movement"
Andrea and Neal Neal Packer
"Happy Birthday Jen! I didn't know you, but your spirit, energy and positivity live on and are needed now more than ever! When I see your smile above it reminds me of my fun-loving, adventurous father who I lost 15 years ago to breast cancer. I will ride for you, him and all the others who are touched by this awful disease. Thank you!"
Maggie Adams
"Jenn had more life, more gumption, more power than anyone I'd ever met. In her last days, she asked me to come over and chat. I felt I didn't live up to her invitation, unable to talk about the most important things. So I talk with her often about them now. I honestly say she is one of the few seminal influences on my life. She taught me lessons of celebrating life and surviving death that I really needed when my own husband passed away of cancer. She has been a life coach in the most serious meaning of the phrase. She lives with all of us still, and always."
Rachel Geller Rosenheck
"Dave and Jen, I am blown away by what you have created. This is what it means to live well. This is what it means to make a difference. And Jen, You would be proud of and happy for Dave who continues to be fearless, amazing and awesome. Happy birthday Jen and thank you! Love, Mike"
Mike Weinbach
"Happy birthday to the person who taught me to think about the bigger things. You were a great leader, a kind friend, and you set the bar for character. Thank you for inviting me to be part of this incredible movement. Smile from above, we won’t let you down. "

"I joined the fight because I would anything for my friend Jen. I was (and am) inspired by her vision and in awe of her strength. I was also pretty impressed with her singing :-) (We had a joint birthday party at a karaoke club in grad school.) I miss her terribly and wish she were here not only so I can hug her, but also so she can see the immeasurable imprint she has left on thousands of people's lives. "
Matt Spielman
"I joined Cycle for survival to honor our neighbor’s and friend’s request. Georgia, age 10, had been diagnosed with a rare cancer. We all felt helpless and rallying behind her family’s decision to participate felt so good and a way to direct our energy and hope. I rode for 6 years through February 2020, and look forward to more. #Gstrong. "
Shawna Buckley
"In July of 2017, my sweet son James was diagnosed at 6 years old with Stage 4 Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. He was gone 10 months later. I ride for my James. I miss him every day. 💔 "
Christine Lodato
"Lost my wife to metastatic breast cancer 2-1/2 years ago . MSK did all they could to help her. I got involved to help others."
Alan Forst
"Before my mother died from sarcoma, she made me promise a $25 donation from her senior club would go to sarcoma research at MSKCC. I am forever grateful to Jen for Cycle for Survival. It has allowed me to keep my promise to my mother alive."
Maureen Cole
"Dearest Jen, When I saw you waiting for the bus with your mom, I thought you and Alicia might become friends. And so you did. Special friends almost like sisters. You grew to be an amazing young woman, as did my Alicia. You faced challenges that no one should have to, with strength, positivity and bravery. While battling cancer, you became a loving aunt to Alicia’s four children. You have inspired my family and so many others, inspired and funded research through Cycle and you have a place in our hearts. Happy 50th birthday, dearest Jen."
Wendy Sands
"My kid sister Tara Verch is fighting carcinoid cancer and my oldest sister passed away from adrenaline gland cancer. My cousins Peg and Billy fought the good fight too. Tara started The Warriors with Jen as her inspiration! We all love and admire you, Birthday girl!!!"
Peggy Weldon
"Patti was my 2nd Jewish mother , supporter, rock and cheerleader. Visiting at msk when she had her transplant was difficult but like Jen her spirit was there . Each day is easier Patti’s sparks shows in new ways but the fight goes on"
Alison Heffer
"Thank you for creating this amazing organization! May Jen's memory be a blessing! Happy Birthday, Jen! An inspiration to us all ! "
Linda Korman Spiegel
"My sister, Carol Johnson Weiss, loved watching Jen grow up, was so thrilled that her very dear friends, Jen’s parents, got her to Memorial Sloan Kettering after her diagnosis of ovarian cancer. Jen’s zest for life inspired Carol to have a Cycle team knowing that research and clinical trials may not help her but help others. Love to the family. Gloria Johnson Knight"
Gloria Johnson Knight
"I remember Jen with the thought that one person can truly make a difference in the world. When she realized that there was little research for rare cancers like hers, she set out to create a cycle event with close friends with the hope of raising $10,000. The first year alone, $200,000 was raised! Jen truly typifies the phrase: "Let It Begin With Me." "
Marilyn Daniels
"Happy birthday, Jen. Seeing your 40th birthday video after it was tagged by a friend who'd just lost her son to neuroblastoma inspired me to lean into your mission and, in 10 years, our team has raised more than $2.2 million! Thank you for living life large, for leading in a way that inspired people to look beyond themselves and for reminding us all what's possible. Your legacy lives on in so many and, because of what you've started, people have hope. I've always been honored to be a part of this amazing community. With love to Dave and both of your families. xo Colleen Fisher, TEAM ROCKSTAR captain, Equinox instructor and decade rider"
Colleen Fisher
"Happy Birthday Jen! You continue to be an inspiration to all of us who ride. I had the pleasure of meeting your Mom at Summit last year & I can honestly say your presence was felt throughout the room!! "
Lisa Prati
"My late wife, Caroline, had an amazing combination of intelligence, common sense, humor, adventure, and all of this with a touch of Class and Sass. Ms. Caroline also embodied the meaning of “Living in the Moment” or “Being Present”. She always embraced people and situations. It just came so natural to her and she genuinely wanted to know your story. Your life’s story. And she never forced herself into anyone’s life or situation, she simply found a place that fit. Needless to say, what an incredible woman! I was always so proud to call her my wife, but I was most proud when she called me her husband. Miss you every day and will always love you………as I find my way. I'm positive Jen and Caroline have become close friends as they ride together. "
Colon Kelly
"Happy birthday Jen. I lost my husband to lung cancer. He was diagnosed February 2017 and died March 2017. As much as I loved to see him live for a long time..... "

"Happy Birthday Jen! As survivor of TNBC, and having lost my Dad to cancer, I want to thank you, Dave and Jen, for inspiring me. Your strength and beauty continue to live on! Last year was my first Cycle for Survival, and I hope to participate in many more. "
ELLEN DAVEY SOHN
"We, too. have been touched by loss. You inspire us. We are with you. We are so proud of all you have done and thank Jen for being the spark."
Analee and Joel Weisman
"Happy Birthday Jen! We never met, but you had quite a guy. The tears are streaming down my face as I read his letter of a love story. Life will never be the same for him or anyone that knew you, but we will do our best to carry on your legacy. And BTW, things are crazier now than ever with a pandemic. G-d has her reasons for taking the good ones, and it seems that you will have lots of company until we can find the cures for these horrendous diseases. You will now stay in my heart as well. "Sandy, Len, & Dave, After my brother passed away on Christmas day of 2011, during the same time my partner's father was dying of cancer, Mike Lazerow reached out to my family. Through Mike, we heard about Cycle for Survival and Jen's story. Reading all of your words in memory of her brought me to tears, but today we CELEBRATE, not only Jen's birthday, but also a decade of living life to the fullest in honor of our loved ones. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JEN! "

"Next month will mark a year I lost my sister Susie Scardino-Olear to a rare form of stage 4 ovarian cancer. She was diagnosed on her 42nd birthday. Susie fought hard for three long years. She had the kindest soul and was always thinking about everyone else around her. A few months before she passed she apologized to me...she was sorry that she was leaving me alone without a sister by my side. On our first official ride as Team Susie O, Susie was asked to ride Jen’s Bike. She was so excited. Jen’s story inspired her. She loved this event and wanted to make sure that we kept going after she was gone. This will be our first cycle event without Susie. It will be hard, but we will continue to ride on in her memory. Happy 50th Birthday Jen. Thank you for inspiring Susie and the rest of us. "
Cristina Scardino
"Jen was my "work friend" who became so much more. We worked together on LEGO and then again at Nickelodeon. She was my advertising partner in crime. When she and Dave started Cycle I was there for the ride. I ride for Jen. In her memory. I keep her close in my heart. Girlfriends, forever! xoxo, Judy Franks"

"Happy 50 th birthday Jen! I learned about Cycle For Survival when my mom was in a study at MSK for Liposarcoma . She was so happy to know that funds were being raised to help treat rare cancers and in so doing help young people live long healthy lives . We promised our mom that we’d always be a part of this effort . Thank you so much for your legacy . Because of your leadership , insight and courage there’s a light at the end of the tunnel . Prayers for you on this day celebrating your amazing life . With Love, Jeanne Captain for Team Mariposa 🦋"

"Happy Birthday to a beautiful soul who continues to inspire us always! Cycle for Survival is such a special way for all of us to honor and remember Jen. It helps us honor our loved ones who we have lost and celebrate those who continue to fight on and refuse to be defined by their disease. We will continue to raise funds, find treatments and cures, and spread love and hope in honor of Jen and so many people we love! "

"I joined the CFS family after supporting some of my good friends and their rides back in the early days. I had many connections to Jen. I grew up in West Orange, NJ, and my friends in Livingston rode for Jen. I also went to Duke (class of '94) and my Duke classmates rode for Jen. So when CFS came to DC (Bethesda), I was one of the first to sign up. I linked up with Team Rockstar and that's all she wrote. I have been back every year since as an Extreme Rider. I love this movement!"

"I met Jen in first grade. So many childhood memories... sleepovers, making fortune tellers, hair braiding, playing piano in her living room - she taught me Heart and Soul. She taught so many of us about heart and soul. I'm awed but not surprised by her legacy. So grateful to have the opportunity to continue to support this movement. We'll keep fighting the good fight Jen and are forever grateful for your inspiration. Happy birthday!! xoxo"

"I started doing cycle for survival ten years ago. It has been one of the proudest days of my spinning career. I only wish I would have been able to meet Jen. She certainty was the one that motivated me for the past five years we dedicated our ride to Rachel. She was also a tremendous inspiration. Rachel lost her battle to Ewing’s sarcoma, January 12, 2018. Let’s keep going!!! "

"My father passed away from cancer when I was 20 & I have always wanted to then help others to hopefully not suffer as he had. I met Jen 10 years later & she inspired me to get involved with Cycle For Survival where I became a Team Captain in Chicago in 2011 & every year since! People like my Dad & Jen continue to inspire me every single day. "

"Happy birthday Jen! You continue to inspire me to do my part to make the world a better place. And I'd like to think that you'd be so happy to know that the little girl in the stroller we'd wheel around Central Park is now part of the Cycle for Survival movement too. She doesn't know you, but she knows about our walks - and she knows how important it is to help others. I think about you often and am always in awe of what you and Dave created. Your legacy is everlasting. "

"Jennifer Goodman and I became friends in Livingston High School. Her smile was infectious and her heart good as good. No one could have ever imagined her impact on our world with the ingenuity of creating Cycle for Survival. Having attended the early days at Equinox in the NYC on team LHS 89, it is amazing to see what the movement has become. No doubt, all that Jen accomplished while she danced on this Earth, will continue to grow and have a massive effect on eradicating this awful disease. "
Jennifer Sodowich Kotler
"I set up a team in 2013 to support a friend who was being treated at MSK after I found out about Cycle For Survival through my spin instructors. Five years later, I'm an MSK patient too....and still spinning! I love MSK and all the people who work there...They are all amazing at what they do. Happy 50th Birthday, Jen."
Deborah J Hudzik
"My Mother, Sue Alberici, inspires me every day to be better than I was the day before. My team, Cycle for Sue, completed our first Cycle For Survival in February of last year in honor of my Mom and 3 months later my Mom unfortunately passed away from rare paraganglioma cancer, after having beat breast cancer 10 years prior. She is my hero, my everything. I will never stop raising money for cancer research in her memory!"
Kellie Alberici
"I was inspired by my good friend from college Alyssa Acquafredda who RCVD her treatments at MSKCC. She fought a hard and courageous 2 year battle with stage 4 angiosarcoma. Today we carry on Alyssa’s fight in her memory, with 2021 being our 12th Cycle event."

"My strongest memories of Jen were at key club at Livingston High school. I was a year younger then Jen and remember her being so smart and well spoken and I was impressed by the way she could lead an audience and was a fantastic public speaker. She had a passion for giving back and fundraising and was truly someone I looked up to then and even now. She left a Mark on my life for sure. ❤️HAppy Birthday 😘"

"Seems perfect that it's Women’s History Month…This month, this year, and always ... we celebrate an incredible fearless woman: Jennifer Goodman Linn, co-founder of Cycle for Survival. Jen is an example of a true leader who put the barriers aside, built a mission on possibility, and seized every opportunity to have an impact. She epitomizes the change one person can bring about in the world. I’m forever proud to call her my dear friend. Her influence, vision and inspiration outlived her and continues. Her dream that started on a napkin (literally) brings hope, joy and treatment to countless people across the globe. No one envisioned, except maybe Jen, that it would grow in 14 years -- to dozens of events in more than 15 cities, nearly 40,000 riders, raising more than $260 million. And, Jen (and her husband and co-founder Dave) made sure that 100% of every dollar raised supports rare cancer research led by MSK. Today is her 50th Birthday – in her honor – I share her legacy and invite you all to join the battle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvaHvkfSbIM "

"I met Jen 16 year ago at a dinner party. Her ideas were streaming to how to give back incorporating a spinning event and raising funds. Ultimately she and Dave founded Spin 4 survival. I joined them the first year and continue each year. As a pediatric oncology nurse practitioner, I continue to share Jen’s story with patients. She inspired so many, had a zest for life and always wanted to help others. Happy 50th Birthday Jen!! You will live in our hearts forever!!!"
Carol Rossetto Blondel
"I met both of you, Len and Sandy, along with Jen and Dave at the Sarcoma Foundation dinner. My sister is a miraculous 18 year sarcoma survivor. You as well as Jen inspired me to get involved in Cycle for Survival. Jen and I had several lunches after our initial meeting. She was so inspiring and full of life. Over lunch we would talk about her vision for Cycle for Survival. I believe Cycle for Survival has surpassed her vision and she is cheering from above. I admire both of you in supporting Jen’s vision and being important ambassadors to this extraordinary cause. Here’s to Jen and Dave for creating Cycle for Survival!. Jen’s memory will live on forever!"
Beth Ifcher
"SANDY & LEN- your daughter came into my moms hospital room at Sloan Kettering and handed us a flyer about Cycle for Survival. I was already an avid "spinner" so when my mom passed, there was already a place I knew about, where I could put effort toward a bigger cause in honor of my beautiful caring mom, who died too young at 54. That first ride Jen gave me the courage to ride hard despite my utter sadness. For many years, Cycle for Survival was a place I felt at home. My sister did a Cycle for Survival in Orlando in the years following and we were so proud to be associated with such an amazing cause. I commend you for keeping Jen's legacy alive. I will share her story with my 4 boys who never got to meet their grandma. I know my mom and Jen are dancing in a beautiful place. "
Jackie Vahab
"Jen showed great courage fighting her disease and finding the energy to start Cycle. You have shown courage dealing with the loss of a child and keeping her dream alive."

"I was fortunate to be able to meet Jen and as a cancer survivor I started riding for all the people who would be helped. I was honored to be able to ride her bike in Chicago. Happy Birthday to Jen"

"Dear Sandy & Len, I first heard of Cycle for Survival through my MAHJ friend Michele Rappaport. Since I don’t cycle my second best was to support Michele and Dan’s daughter Sandy as she took up the pedal to wipe out the “C” word! My thoughts are with you as you remember your daughter Jen’s 50th. May her memory be a blessing. Beverly Hirsch"

"Jen was one of my first friends in elementary school and we spent a lot of time together throughout our childhood. She was so easy going, smart and funny- always smiling and laughing. She was a force and an inspiration long before Cycle for Survival! It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that she left such an amazing legacy - one that continues to help so many people in so many ways. Happy 50th Jen!!! You are truly missed! ❤️❤️"
Shannon Woodeshick
"Jen was an amazing sister, friend and aunt to me and my family. She was a terrific role model to my girls and taught us that one person can make a difference. Jen will always hold a very special spot in our hearts! "
Missy Linn
"Our daughter, Michele, is a 6 year ovarian cancer survivor and her zest for life reminds me of your Jen. Michele was honored to ride Jen’s bike in 2019 at Cycle for Survival. It was a highlight in her life. She was so proud. We were with Michele that day in New York and have never been more moved. We were looking forward to Michele telling her story in 2020 but Cycle cancelled due to Covid but she is riding virtually this May. As parents we feel your loss of your daughter. Michele was diagnosed at age 39, young like your daughter. No family history, not the usual symptoms but she just knew something was wrong and pursued it with her local doctors here in New Jersey. The diagnosis was devastating. She knew if she had any hope it would be at MSKCC so our devotion to MSKCC runs deep. Dr. Elizabeth Jewell at MSKCC operated and six months of chemotherapy followed. It was our darkest days. Not knowing her future was crushing but here we are six years later with Michele in remission. She began advocating for funding and joined the Cycle for Survival team. She knew Jen’s story and wanted to be a part of her legacy. It’s wonderful that every dollar raised in her honor goes toward research of rare cancers. We know that everyday is a gift with Michele and we are grateful she is in remission. She’s a loving mother of two beautiful children, Ava, 16 and George, 14. She’s a devoted wife of 20 years to her husband Kevin and the most cherished daughter a parent could want. Her brother, Mark and sister, Nicole, love and admire her. She’s the greatest Aunt to her niece, Adrian. She’s a school psychologist and a foster mom of kittens for the Monmouth County SPCA. Michele says cancer changed her. She’s always busy advocating and making the most of each day. She’s generous with her time for others, tries not to sweat the small things in life and now lives life to the fullest. She advocates for funding for ovarian cancer in many different ways and Cycle for Survival is top of her list. She’s on the board of Kaleidoscope for Hope and SHARE. Like Jen, she’s a beautiful person and an incredible warrior. God bless your Jen and for the wonderful ways you have honored her and kept her legacy. Thank you for giving the world your beautiful daughter. Jen is always in our hearts and prayers and all you have done to honor her is remarkable. We are grateful to you for sharing your story. It’s made so many cancer patients know they are not alone in their fight. Michele will ride again this year in Jen’s honor. We are so proud of her. May God bless you and your beautiful family and may he continue to watch over our daughter and all who have been affected by cancer. Sincerely, Rosemary and Mario D’ANGELO"

"My grandmother passed away from cancer when my father was only 4 years old. It has always left an impact on him. You're daughter has inspired Soo many. It's so beautiful! Cheers to her birthday and health of all!"

"We are here on this earth for a unknown amount of time. Jen, although it was a short amount of time has accomplished great things. She was and still is a true example of strength, wisdom, kindness, and selflessness. I have been a part of cycle for 8 years now. Each year as I ride home on the train to the burbs from Chicago. I reflect on the day and am always overwhelmed with the feeling that I am making a difference. This is because of Jen Goodman Lin. Thank you for how you handle your battle and what you have created. "
Michelle Micelli
"May your memory always be a blessing & continue to carry on !!!! xo"
Heather Frieman
"My instinct was to do something, to take action, not let cancer control my life or my future. Not so much to give back, but to move forward toward treatment options for those who have none. Through Cycle for Survival, I could support the research of my amazing team of doctors. I love hearing their progress and “you funded this!” It’s a privilege to be able to help beat rare cancers."

"Happy 50th Jen! 🧡 I was inspired not only by Jen, but also by her parents Sandy and Len Goodman to join this fantastic movement. I have known the Goodman family since elementary school and it is an honor and a privilege to celebrate all of them each year by participating Cycle for Survival in NJ! "

"Jen inspired me. Remembering Fearless Jen It is hard to believe it has been ten years since Jen made her 40th birthday dance video. I watch it every year and it makes me smile. I recently came across the brand identity design package that I did for Jen’s brand “you fearless.” Jen was such an inspiration to me and to all those who knew her. When I reflect upon what she was going through, it is just unbelievable how she approached each day. I will always cherish our time together and keep her close to my heart as we continue to battle rare cancer. Our team is so proud to be part of this amazing community. We were not able to ride this year due to the global pandemic but this does not change our unwavering commitment or our deep-rooted feeling to give back and support this amazing cause. While I am missing the energy, vitality, emotion, laughter, music, singing, dancing, riding, competitiveness and pure joy of this day, we are always together in our goal and mission. Over the past 11 years, our team has raised over $340,000 to date. I know this would make Jen smile ear to ear. Jen always told me it was “not about the bike, it was about the money we raise” and it was never more true than this year. I know she would be so proud of what she and Dave created and I am proud every year to be part of @CycleForSurvival We miss the great Jennifer Goodman Linn or “JGL” as I called her. Her memory is truly a blessing to all of us who knew and loved her. #WeHonorYouFearlessJen #YouFearless #CycleForSurvival #PositivityNY2021 #InHonorOfThoseWeLoveWeRide #BestOfFriendsAlwaysRideTogether#DecadeRiders #UntilWeRideAgain"

"A spin instructor invited me to join her Cycle for Survival team 10 ago and it is the single most rewarding thing I’ve ever done in my life. I’ve since taken over and am the proud captain of Team Steel Wheels. In 2018 I was honored to have ridden Jen’s bike. The card that was on that bike hangs on my fridge, a daily reminder of what is possible when people come together. I hope you’re proud of us Jen. "

"I met Jen when we worked at Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising in New York, our first jobs out of college. While we unfortunately lost touch after I moved to the West Coast, I will always remember her laugh, her energy, her sense of humor, her drive, and her intelligence. When I heard she created Cycle for Survival, it didn’t surprise me at all; I knew she would have a big impact on the world. She was a force of nature and I’m grateful to have known her."
Tracey Liao Van Hooser

"We had the pleasure to meet Jen through Dave and Eric and she was very special and inspirational. What she has built and what you have done with her legacy is amazing. With your support, I know we are many steps closer to eradicating cancer. Thanks for all you do."

"Happy 50th Jen - you and your family are an inspiration to so many! Several people in my life have inspired me to raise money and participate in CFS. My stepmother who overcame breast cancer, my dad who overcame prostate cancer, my friend Julienne who passed away in 2019 from bile duct cancer and was an amazing source of strength to many who knew and loved her and finally, my sister in law who is currently in remission from Leukemia. "

"I am so grateful to have known and loved Jen! We met at Nickelodeon, but were destined to be in each other’s lives as neighboring Jersey girls with a zest for life! Jen inspired me to join her fight and I am in awe of the legacy she and Dave have created! Thinking of her on her 50th, and know she is still dancing!! Xx "

"Jen inspired me. From the day I met her in Freshman year of college she was an unstoppable force, and I was often (happily) carried away by her plans. She was a big personality with a big heart and she dreamt BIG! Those of us who knew her aren't surprised that she found a way to turn her misfortune into a lifesaving event for so many others. But I am blown away by the magnitude of her accomplishment, and all of the lives Cycle has changed. More than 30 years after meeting her, I am still galvanized by Jen's big ideas. Happy 50th Birthday, dear friend! You and your legacy continue to inspire me. xoxo"

"I learned about Cycle for Survival through Sandy who taught my twins in first grade in Summit, NJ. Our team, Summit Spinners, has ridden from the beginning. I ride as a cancer survivor and a wife/mother who lost her husband to Hodgkin's Lymphoma at age 48. I also ride in honor of Jen and her remarkable family: Sandy and Len, Dave, and Brett."
Joan White
"Happy 50th to the incredible Jen!! 40 years of passion, kindness, energy, fun and laughs that no one will ever forget. Was proud to have known her and be an early part of her and Dave's incredible movement. Have no doubt she is still up there having lunches with my mom and taking about the world and all the people they loved so much....I can literally see the smiles and hear the laughter. Miss you Jen and know you are still celebrating this big one in your special style! "
Ari Ackerman
"We support Cycle for Survival in memory of Jen and in honor of Jen’s parents our friends Sandy and Len. Amazing people. "

"I learned about Cycle 9 years ago from my boss who knew Jenn & David. Personally I am inspired by my friend Michelle who fought for 2 long years against pancreatic cancer only to lose her battle in February of 2017 right after I had finished the Cycle ride that year. Her battle cry was Game On! I am inspired by the entire Cycle community. Happy Birthday Jenn - thank you for the legacy you left us all! Game On!"
Cindy Henderson
"Jen and Cycle for Survival are an inspiration for us as we search to make sense of our son Julian's death to osteosarcoma at the age of 20. Since this would have been Julian's 25th birthday year, our virtual Cycle for Survival ride will be a cross-country ride from NYC to SF this Fall. Let's find a cure!! Happy 50th Jen and 25th Julian."
Cristy and Alec Fraser
"I first met Jen in 2009 when I took care of her as a nurse practitioner while she was admitted in the hospital a few times. Within minutes of meeting her, she was telling me all about Cycle for Survival - a movement that was in it's early stages but picking up momentum fast. I was hooked. Her energy was immediately contagious and I am now in my 11th year as a team captain for a Cycle For Survival team. I think about her and her enthusiasm every year during this event, every time I wear a Cycle For Survival T-shirt, or any time this event is brought up. She was a force to be reckoned with and her legacy is truly magical. Happy Birthday Jen! xo"
Jennifer

"What a beautiful legacy Jenn left. I am a retired nurse who worked at MSKCC in 1980 as did my husband. Now our youngest daughter is a pediatric oncology nurse there. We continue to help in the fight to find cures!! Keep up the wonderful work that you are doing!!"

"My daughter Brienne was diagnosed with an Astrocytoma 6 years ago at age 31. When she learned about Cycle for Survival 2 years ago, she was honored to be asked to ride Jen’s Bike, and to speak at MSK’s reception for Cycle. She inspires me as Jen did you, with her spark for living. Bless you for giving us the Cycle family. "
Diana Clingan
"Mike and Cookie Center (Jen’s Uncle and Aunt) inspired us to join Cycle. Both of them fought through their own lymphoma treatments. We marvel at their strength and resilience, clearly family traits. They are a treasure in our lives as we know Jen was to all who loved her. We are always touched by hearing Jen stories. Mike and Cookie keep her memory and brave spirit alive! Happy Birthday Jen! "

"A very special little boy named Tate Annon and his brave, beautiful beautiful mother Laura. Tate passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer but we will never forget his beautiful zest for life and that contagious smile!"

"WOW! what an amazing women Jen was . Both of you as parents have to be proud of the resilient person she was and along with the great gift of cause that's it take to create such a community. Jen truly did think of others for her achievement lives on and continues to grow as I write research is being done that will extent the life's of others that at one time had no chance. You have to be proud for other lives have been saved because of her desire to help others. I don't doubt for one minute that she was amazing and I am sure that both of you are as well. thank you for that amazing person that rules "CYCLE FOR SURVIVAL" a title Jen truly deserves."

"I’m a prostate cancer survivor. My healthcare team—urologists and radiation oncologists and their incredible staffs—changed me even more than the disease. For all those who work tirelessly to save lives I ride in Cycle For Survival. "

"What a magical soul! A beautiful human to start this avalanche of support for rare cancers. HBD! My motivation is Jen Nathan, another beautiful soul, who traveled the world and spread joy in her short years. "

"One month after my thirty-nine year old daughter, Leah, passed away from her second bout of rare cancer, my daughter, Erin, saw a magazine article about Cycle for Survival. This marks our tenth year trying to make a difference and it has truly been my saving grace. Baking and selling my cakes makes me feel like I can still mother Leah and keeps me feeling connected to her. Cycle for Survival is truly my therapy. I'm so grateful to be a part of it. Happy Birthday, Jen!"
Myra Sparks
"I remember well the little girl in braids who was my daughter's friend. The little girl grew into an amazing woman. Who knew so many years later, my beloved brother-in-law would have a similar battle with rare cancer. Both Jen and Steve were, still are, inspirations to our whole family. Raising a virtual glass to wish Jen a happy birthday and to toast her too short, but oh so meaningful life. "
Susan Levine
"A friend has a rare cancer and introduced me to Cycle for Survival. Riding for my friend and in memory of Jen and others is an honor; thank you for starting Cycle for Survival."

"Happy 50th Birthday to the woman who inspired a hugely impactful and important movement! As a cancer patient at MSK, I was thrilled when my dear friend suggested we join Cycle for Survival to raise money and fight back against the disease that has taken so much from so many. I am beyond grateful that MSK has saved my life, and I love being able to pay it forward, even in a small way. Thank you, Jen. I trust you are looking down with joy at what you've accomplished!"
Amanda Laserson
"I worked with Jen for a short period of time but she made such a deep impression on me. Her intellect, energy, passion and incredibly positive attitude, live with me to this day. I had a chance to go to lunch with her after she left the company. It was probably the first time we chatted one on one and I left that lunch thinking this is one of the most special people I have ever met. She's been an inspiration to me ever since, to live life to the fullest and to love and to be kind. Her memory will be with me forever. "
Ron Geraci
"Happy 50th Jen!! You were and remain inspirational. I lost my wife Becky in Dec 2017 to a very rare sarcoma . We were together nearly 40 years. That same year our only grandchild Charlie was born with a rare pediatric cancer. He is bouncing back thanks to many great people at Sloan Kettering and Boston children’s hospital. But mostly his loving , dedicated parents. God Bless!"

"I never knew Jen but friends got me to join the battle many years ago in Seattle, and since then, Jen and CFS have always motivated me to live every day bigger and better! Your family have reached and inspired so many lives you have no idea!!! I promise to be flying down the side of a mountain on Sunday thinking of your Jen!"
Gina
"In July 2019, at the age of 41 I was diagnosed w/ a rare caner, Esthesioneuroblastoma. What I learned through this process, is that I am actually lucky. Like Jen, and all who ride in her honor, cancer has effected someone we know and gives us a new perspective. MSK & Cycle for Survival was exactly the right match for my attitude, full speed ahead. Cancer is a marathon, a long ride, and you have to get up, everyday, no matter how much you don’t have the energy. Jen's dedication is an inspiration. "
Eileen Alter
"Jen's enthusiasm and joy are contagious and inspiring. The world was made better by her presence and has hole because of losing her. She inspires me to live each day and make each moment count."

"This is my 7th year. I'm a 2 time survivor of breast cancer (1983 & 2018) with a love of spin, dance and music. Lisa Gagliardi Team G-Force inspired me to join. Rode Jenn's bike first year. I ride for those not as lucky as me, for Jenn and others. First year honored to ride Jenn's bike. "

"My daughter, Cathryn, inspired me to join this awesome event because she's a survivor or a rare cancer, one that almost took her away at age 6. For Jen's parents, who lost their own spunky, unforgettable daughter, I will ride in honor of Jen and all daughters lost to rare cancer. We, at Friends of Cathryn Foundation, send love to all in Cycle for Survival! "

"Jen accomplished more in her 40 years then most people in their lifetimes. She was truly a unique person. When she was about 4 years old, she climbed on my lap, and asked if she can call me Uncy instead of Uncle Barry. "
Barry Koblentz
"It is amazing to hear all of your stories! They are so inspiring! I joined Cycle 8 years ago when I started as a trainer at Equinox. As a recent post graduate, I wanted to give back, be a part of something bigger than myself, and to pay tribute to those who I have known who have battled. Together we will win this battle!"
Steve Ferrah
"Hi friends! I joined Cycle for Survival in 2019 at the request of Linda Lee, my coworker. I lost a dear friend, Nancy, to Ovarian cancer a few years ago, and I was told by a nutritionist that I have "abnormal cells" in my right breast. I don't want anyone to suffer from cancer, and that's why I am proud to be a part of ya'll."
Alison Barlow
"I joined Cycle for Survival because of Courtney Caccia, a college friend of Jen's. I never met Jen, I only spoke with her on the phone after the first Cycle for Survival event in San Francisco, but her story brought to my attention the need to support and fund rare cancers and I have contributed to Jen's cause (and other rare cancers) ever since that first Cycle for Survival event. I am hopeful we will all be able to ride together again in Jen's honor someday soon. "
Kristine Mostofizadeh
"I joined to support my niece, Tracy Kollin Smith. I think of your loss when I get mail from “Cycle for Survival.”"
Marilyn Greenblum
"I joined Cycle after my brother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer in 2011. I was also blessed to be a MSK patient when I discovered a troubling leg tissue lump (ultimately benign) that same year. Thank you, Sandy and Len, for all that you do. Deep gratitude also of course to Dave. "
Rob Robinson
"I didn't know Jen, but am certain that she inherited some of her energy and fearless attitude from her mother, who sparked a love of learning in my children as a teacher and who inspired me to ride for Cycle for Survival. My mother was diagnosed with advanced cancer in 2019, and thanks to advances at MSK and other research centers, she continues to thrive. I ride for her and the countless others who are alive today because of the funding that Cycle for Survival provides to help fight this disease. Happy Birthday Jen!"
Julie
"I was so honored to meet Jen the 1st year Cycle for Survival started. Just as a friend started her struggle with cancer, Jen & JoAnn have inspired me since. There are so many more I cycle for now. I will never forget Jen & her family and their dedication to battle rare cancer. ☮️ B w/ U"

"Our son in law Ken met Jen just as he ended treatment for cancer. She was amazing and inspriting. We met her at cycle in 2009. and Dave and you. Ken is doing great and I have been riding since 2010. Sadly, other family members have died from cancer since then: Ken's mom, our daughter-inlaw's brother. my brother. We keep working and hoping "
Myra Miller Zuckerbraun
"Thinking of Jenn, David and your family! I joined Cycle for Survival a few years after my husband passed away from a rare cancer. He was just 39 years old, our boys were 21 months and 3 and I knew I had to do something to fight this terrible disease. This will be my 8th ride and I am so thankful to this community. I will continue to ride until a cure is found. Thank you for giving all of us the chance to be in touch! "
Stacy Rifkin
"Our 27 year old son was diagnosed with diffuse large B cell lymphoma at 23. He currently is in remission and in one year will add the title M.D. to his name. He struggled through school during chemo and so many procedures I lost count. We ride so everyone can be cured no matter what they are struggling with and until we lose no-one else from any cancer."
Debbi + Eric Mendelson
"In memory of my beloved mom that passed away from a rare form of cancer as well.. in memory of her carrying young happy nurturing personality we treasure every moment with her until we meet her again."
Orit Tavori
"Like Jen’s best friend Alicia, I too lost my best friend Christina Camardese Savage to brain cancer in early 2009 days before her 32nd birthday. I was inspired to join Cycle for Survival to honor Christina’s life, and raise money to help fight this horrible illness that takes too many people from us day after day, year after year. I’ve loved having the opportunity to meet Jen’s family through Cycle and see her legacy live on. I like to think that Jen and Christina have met and become friends wherever they are. They seem very similar in their battles and in their desire not to let the Cancer take away their personalities and zest for life. Thinking of you all on Jen’s birthday and praying for a cure! "
Devra Glick
"My husband was diagnosed with a rare, essentially unbeatable cancer - his doctors gave him 2-3 years to live. He was young healthy, my favorite person on earth, and an amazing father to our 3 young children. Thanks to our amazing team of doctors, research and clinical trials at MSK, he is still with us today - past the 2-3 year marker, and currently stable on a clinical trial. I ride for him, for all the families of loved ones who are faced with cancer like his and Jen's, and for continued research and treatments to help them to seize more days! :) Thank you Jen for inspiring a movement to give hope to my husband, and so many others like him."
Keri
"Just as your daughter lived life with such gusto and purpose, my friend and artist, Priscilla Snow Algava, also had that gift. She and her amazing daughters inspired me to support Cycle for Survival. Thank you Jen!"
Wilma E Solomon
""In my first few months of working at Equinox as a Group Fitness Manager and Instructor, I met Jen's best friend Alicia Sands, she approached me after class and said YOU must lead a Cycle for Survival Ride. 7 Years later as Team Captain of Team G Force my team and I have raised over 450,000 and I couldn't be more proud. Jens story inspired me so much to be a big part of this movement. My Mom at 86 years of age was diagnosed with Cancer in 2019 and she is fighting till this day. I am committed to Cycle for Survival for so many reason. Happy Birthday to your beautiful daughter Jen. May her memory and spirit live in you forever. XO Lisa G""

"In 2007, Jen welcomed my sister Stacy into this horrific club when my sister was diagnosed with liposarcoma. They even walked the hospital floors together. Jen, Stacy & the entire CFS community have inspired myself and the entire Mission Possible team to keep their fight alive until there is no enemy left. We will not lose another sister, daughter, mother and friend to cancer. We battle on. HBD Jen - I hope you and Stacy are dancing up there!! xox"
Rebecca Blumberg
"Thank you for your message and I love your traditions on your daughter's birthday. Coincidentally, I just opened a package which was one of Jen's headbands for this year's ride :) God Bless Jen and your family as you have all provided so much hope for others through Cycle for Survival. I'll never forget what a pleasure it was meeting Dave in 2017 at my first ride shortly after my son's treatment at MSK. THANK YOU all for everything you do! Happy Birthday, Jen!"
David Nickles
"It is because of Jen, her wonderful parents, that my sister, Carol Johnson Weiss, was able to live 7 years after her diagnosis of ovarian cancer. Carol watched Jen grow up, loved her zeal for life and participated in Cycle for Survival. She knew the research and clinical trials would not help her but would help others in the future. Love, Gloria Johnson Knight"
Gloria Knight
"I learned about cycle from my camp and college friend Jen Lee, a friend of Jen Goodman’s from NYC. I watched on the sidelines as she participated each year. Coincidentally, I live in Concord where Jen’s college friend Kelly McIntosh lives and Dave’s Northwestern friend Sorrel Sammons lives. It is a small world. I was inspired to participate when rare cancer hit my family. I have no words...please send your prayers. Sorrel invited me to her team wheelin4hhealin last year and I am sure I will continue to be part of the movement from now on. May we all learn from Jen Goodman. May her memory be a blessing. "

"Sending birthday wishes Jen! Im a breast cancer survivor!"

"🧡 I am extremely honored and proud that this will be my 9th year as a Cycle for Survival captain. This is my 28th year practicing as a Pediatric Oncology nurse and my 22nd year working @ MSK Kids. The kids and families that I have worked with, most of my life, inspire me on a daily basis. Jenn’s life story is a beautiful example of how so many young warriors accomplish so much, in all too often a shorter life than they should have. Cycle for Survival has helped make powerful changes in extending and saving the lives of so many through their funding of research and treatments. It has been a privilege to have many coworkers, family and friends participate in Cycle for Survival with me on our team. RN Riders.🧡 Aimee White RN, BSN, CPHON @ MSK Kids"

"I was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma in 2007. My sister in law saw Jenn on TV and wrote her and a few days later I, my daughter and my sister in law met Jenn for dinner. She told us about Cycle for Survival, asked us to join, and as you know you could never say no to her. We have been involved with Cycle for Survival every year since. I think of her often and always have and continue to admire her. "

"Jen and I were friends from HBS. She was the happiest, most energetic, most positive person, and she brought that energy and optimism to her health battle. It is no surprise that she has left a legacy that is literally saving lives. How I wish we had a 50th birthday dance video to enjoy today. I miss her. My love to Len, Sandy, Brett and Dave on 3/21 and always. "
Ann Kelly Bolten
"After 40+ years of healthy eating, regular exercise, alcohol in moderation and no smoking, I was shocked with a blood cancer diagnosis. There is no cure so I do as much as I can to continue healthy habits. Jen’s story and the family behind her inspired me to get up every day and push through. "
Donna Shea
"Jen has inspired me to have hope for cures for these rare cancers:) My kid sister is fighting carcinoid cancer and has yet another biopsy today. My oldest sister passed away from a rare cancer after testing every drug for NIH. My cousins and many aunts and uncles were cancer warriors too. I love Jen for her hope and courage! We will win, and love and the human spirit will never die:) Carpe Diem for sure!! xoxoxo"

"My sister met Jen in 2009 when I was five years in remission from Hodgkins, and we knew Cycle for Survival was something we had to be a part of. We were immediately hooked and have participated every year since, now in multiple cities. We ride to celebrate my survivorship, but also to honor loved ones we've lost, including my dad and aunt. We will participate until everyone facing a rare cancer diagnosis has options and everyone can be cured. "
