Join The NYC Startup Ride: Together, We Will Beat Rare Cancers!

Join the most innovative startups in New York City to beat rare cancers once and for all. For more than a decade, teams from New York City’s most well-known companies like Buddy Media, Flatiron Health, Facebook, Google, Cheddar, Buzzfeed, Braze and many others have participated in Cycle for Survival to raise funds for rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). This year we are bringing them all together for one epic ride. Will you and your company join us in making a difference?

Why are we riding? Rare cancer research desperately needs champions like us. It’s often underfunded, but with Cycle for Survival, we’re bridging that gap. Since 2007, this incredible community has empowered MSK’s doctors and scientists to transform how rare cancers are diagnosed and treated.

By uniting as a community of startups, we have the power to accelerate these breakthroughs. Join us and let’s ride together to fuel the fight against rare cancers!

Here are two ways to get involved:

1. Companies, gather your teams and invite your employees to join us for an inspiring ride on stationary bikes to help raise funds for groundbreaking advancements in rare cancer treatments.

Register: Each team can reserve 1-4 bikes, with each bike hosting 4-8 riders.

Raise Money: There is no registration fee. Each registered team on one bike has a collective goal of $1,000 per bike that you are registered for. You will have a fundraising page and resources to support you, including a dedicated Cycle for Survival staff member for your team.

Ride: The event is split into four back-to-back 50-minute spin sessions. You and your teammates will rotate relay-style riding your stationary bike(s). Participants will ride anywhere from 25-50 minutes. No cycling experience is necessary—just a passion for making a difference!

Research: Within six months after fundraising closes, the money goes directly to MSK doctors and scientists, fueling bold ideas and breakthroughs.

2. Make a tax-deductible gift today. Every dollar you give will go directly into MSK labs, where researchers have expertise in more than 400 types of cancer. Funding from Cycle for Survival has led to the FDA approval of new drugs, lifesaving clinical trials, and state-of-the-art DNA sequencers.

50% of People With Cancer Have a Rare Cancer
About half of all people with cancer have a rare form of the disease. Rare cancers include many types you’ve likely heard of, such as leukemia and lymphoma; thyroid, ovarian, brain, and pancreatic cancers; and all pediatric cancers.

Real Impact, Real Fast
Your donation will be allocated within six months after fundraising ends. Not only does Cycle for Survival fund critical research but it also makes sure that donated dollars get into the hands of MSK experts as quickly as possible.
