Meet Our 2023–2024 Game Changer Award Recipients

Team Luke
Team Luke has truly changed the game for Cycle for Survival. Participating in both New York City and Miami, Team Luke has raised $1.4 million to date, and its impact continues to grow. The team’s namesake, Luke Weber, is an inspiration to all who meet him. Luke was diagnosed with stage 4 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma when he was just three years old, but thanks to an innovative immunotherapy trial his MSK doctors found for him, Luke has been cancer-free for more than 10 years.
Luke is an extraordinary champion for Cycle for Survival and has made powerful speeches at events across the country, motivating countless people with his messages of hope and resilience, and with his dedication to taking action to help others. Luke even organized a Cycle for Survival event at his high school, raising over $50,000 with his classmates to support rare cancer research at MSK. “I will be here fighting cancer however I can until [when] one day in my lifetime, no child will have to be sent home from the hospital because there’s nothing more that the doctors can do for them,” said Luke at a 2019 Cycle for Survival event.
Team Luke is a family commitment. Luke’s mom, Eliza Weber, has led Team Luke for many years, and as a member of MSK’s Patient and Family Advisory Council for Quality, she has moderated virtual events for the Cycle for Survival community and supports others by sharing her experiences.
In Miami, Luke’s aunts and uncles Jessica, Scott, Sharon, and Howard Srebnick have hosted events to introduce corporate leaders to Cycle for Survival, leading to many impactful gifts for rare cancer research at MSK. When we held outdoor rides nationwide in 2022, Jessica graciously donated the use of Wynwood Walls for Cycle for Survival’s Miami event. The space drew a tremendous amount of local attention and recognition and enticed many new participants to join the movement to beat rare cancers.
We are so thankful to Luke, his family, and all of Team Luke for their game-changing impact on Cycle for Survival. Team Luke has inspired the Cycle for Survival community and showcased what team growth looks like nationwide through its recruitment and fundraising, by bringing awareness to our mission, and by engaging its team members’ networks to advance progress in rare cancer research.
“We ride so that every child and adult with cancer will have treatment options. We ride to honor brave family and friends touched by cancer. We ride to honor and celebrate the courage shown by Luke and so many others who fight cancer. Cycle for Survival is our way of joining their fight and making a difference.”

Team RBC
Team RBC has been a steadfast corporate leader for Cycle for Survival since 2013 and has raised more than $2 million for rare cancer research at MSK through its participation. Since the 2020 season, Team RBC has made an annual gift to Cycle for Survival as an event sponsor. Team RBC was the Presenting Sponsor of the 2024 New York City Corporate Ride.
In addition to this generous corporate giving, RBC Capital Markets (RBCCM) employee teams rally and raise funds each year. In 2023, RBC collectively raised $347,000 and in 2024, has already surpassed $350,000 raised — the highest single-season fundraising total to date!
Multiple employee-led teams participate in New York City, and teams also ride in Boston, Chicago, and Northern California. Team RBC is making a global impact by getting employees at its Toronto headquarters involved in the movement to beat rare cancers. RBCCM has an inspiring culture of volunteerism and philanthropy throughout the firm as evidenced by the time, energy, and dedication that its employees show to advancing rare cancer research at MSK.
In addition to Cycle for Survival, RBC hosts the annual RBC Race for the Kids in partnership with New York Road Runners. In 2022, MSK Kids was named the official charity partner of the RBC Race for the Kids, becoming the sole beneficiary of its fundraising. The event generates close to $1 million annually for pediatric cancer research at MSK.
RBC is an incredible long-standing champion for MSK. We are so grateful for the firm’s continued support of Cycle for Survival and for the impact of every dollar that RBC teams raise for rare cancer research.
