On March 7, we will be riding in Bryant Park in honor of Shelly Rubenstein, and to support MSK.

Lisa and Jackie have participated in years past and this time Larry will join! It’s not just a way to celebrate her life, but also to support others who are facing their own battles. 

Losing our mom felt like it happened in the blink of an eye—just seven months from diagnosis to goodbye. It was shocking, especially since she was easily the healthiest, most energetic 73-year-old you’d ever meet. But somehow, she also had stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Despite everything, she remained incredibly upbeat. She was genuinely grateful to have “gotten into Sloan,” as if it were an exclusive club—her positivity almost making light of the gravity of those words. But knowing she was in the hands of the best gave her comfort, and for that, we will always be grateful to MSK.

Now, nearly three years later, our family still feels the absence of her undeniable lightness, laughter, and joyful spirit. Her way of bringing warmth, happiness, and imagination into everything she touched.  But on March 7, we’ll do what she always did—look on the bright side, find strength in love, and keep moving forward.
